EAGLE Director’s Message

When faced with new opportunities, unforeseen challenges, joys or sorrows, these words from Jeremiah

29 have always provided me with comfort, reassurance and confidence in the goodness of God. I’ve appreciated these words in the last few months as I added a few new titles in my life.

In July, I took on new duties as the Director of Operations for Methodist Ministries Network. While I am now overseeing our association’s communication efforts and operational systems, I remain the primary point person for the EAGLE Accreditation Program. My work with our EAGLE-accredited communities and those pursuing accreditation is still my priority focus area. The added responsibilities within the association support strategic efforts to grow and strengthen our membership.

I’ve also added two new titles personally as well. In September, our oldest daughter married the most wonderful man with a precious seven-year-old son. It was a 21st night of September to remember. Becoming a Mother-in-Law and a bonus-Grandma on the same day was the best joy!

These new titles are certainly a reflection of a hopeful future for me and my family. At the same, many of our friends and colleagues face big challenges – from the aftermath of recent hurricanes and serious health conditions to employment pressures and other concerns. In every case, I know that even in rough times, God offers protection. He calms our hearts. He sends the helpers. He is the hope for a better tomorrow.

As you look at the plans on your calendar, give thanks. For whatever lies ahead, God goes before you – to light the way, to equip you and give you peace.
